Terms of Use
The rules for accessing and using the ProxyMod website and application. Last updated: June 27, 2026.
1. Legal notice
The ProxyMod website, available at proxymod.net, together with the related software application, is published by:
- Publisher / Legal representative: identity not disclosed, in accordance with Article 6-III of French Act No. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 on confidence in the digital economy (LCEN). This information is provided to any competent authority upon formal request.
- Legal status: Micro-enterprise (micro-entreprise).
- Administrative address: 200 rue de la Croix Nivert, 75015 Paris, France.
- SIREN / SIRET: 998 950 224 / 998 950 224 00019.
- Contact email: [email protected].
- Publication director: the legal representative of Damnatio.
Hosting provider: Webstrator. The host stores and serves the website; it can be reached through the Publisher for any hosting-related matter.
In these Terms, "the Publisher" refers to the entity above, "the Service" refers to the ProxyMod website and application, and "the User" refers to any person accessing the Service.
2. Purpose
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions under which the User accesses and uses the Service. The purchase of licenses is governed by separate Terms of Sale (the "Terms of Sale"), which supplement these Terms.
3. Acceptance
Creating an account and/or using the Service constitutes full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. Any User who does not accept all or part of the Terms must refrain from using the Service.
The User represents that they have the legal capacity to enter into a contract. The Service is not intended for persons under 15 years of age; a minor may only use the Service with the consent of their legal guardian.
4. Description of the service
ProxyMod is a desktop proxy for Minecraft protocol analysis. It sits between a Minecraft client and a server and decodes, in real time, the packets exchanged in both directions. It is designed for development, debugging and protocol analysis, and provides a Lua scripting layer to inspect or modify traffic.
ProxyMod is an independent tool. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios; the Service is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, Mojang or Microsoft.
Full access to the desktop application and the marketplace requires an active license. Without an active license, the User cannot download the application, browse or install plugins, or start the proxy. Managing plugins the User has already published remains available. The license is checked on every launch of the application; once it lapses, the launcher stops starting sessions and the marketplace re-locks, while the account, plugins and settings are kept.
5. User account
- Access to the Service requires creating an account with a valid email address, confirmed via an activation link.
- The User undertakes to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- The User is solely responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for any activity carried out from their account. Any unauthorized use must be reported to the Publisher without delay.
- The User may change their email address (confirmed by a link sent to the new address) or request deletion of their account from the dashboard. Deletion includes a grace period during which it can be cancelled.
- The User may optionally link their Discord account. This link can be revoked at any time.
6. Software license
Subject to an active license and compliance with these Terms, the Publisher grants the User a personal, non-exclusive, non-assignable and non-transferable right to use the ProxyMod application, for the duration of the license and for their own needs.
In particular, it is prohibited to: resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the application; decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer it, except within the limits permitted by law; circumvent the license verification mechanisms; or share an account or a license between several people.
7. Acceptable use
ProxyMod is a debugging tool. The User undertakes to analyse only connections and servers they own or are explicitly authorized to test. The proxy relays an authenticated, encrypted session exactly like a direct connection and does not bypass server security.
The User must not, in particular:
- use the Service for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, or in a way that infringes the rights of third parties;
- analyse, intercept or alter the traffic of third-party servers or accounts without authorization;
- use the Service in breach of the terms of third-party servers (for example, to cheat on a server without authorization);
- attempt to disrupt, overload or compromise the Service's infrastructure;
- access restricted areas (administration, other Users' accounts) without authorization.
The User is solely responsible for how they use the tool and for the consequences of that use.
8. Marketplace & plugins
The Service offers a marketplace of plugins (Lua scripts) that Users can install and, if they wish, publish.
- Moderation: every plugin and every new version is moderated before publication. Only scripts hosted on proxymod.net can be installed, and each download is verified against its pinned SHA-256 hash.
- Author responsibility: a User who publishes a plugin warrants that they hold the rights to it, that it does not infringe any third-party rights and contains no unlawful or malicious content. They are solely responsible for the content and operation of their plugins.
- License granted to the Publisher: by publishing a plugin, the User grants the Publisher the non-exclusive right to host, reproduce and make it available to other Users through the marketplace, for the purposes of operating the Service.
- Removal: the Publisher may refuse, remove or disable any plugin that does not comply with these Terms or the law, without this giving rise to any compensation.
- Plugins are provided "as is". The Publisher is not the author of plugins published by Users and does not guarantee their operation or compatibility.
9. Intellectual property
The ProxyMod application, the website, their contents (text, interfaces, logos, trademarks, databases) and their architecture are protected by intellectual property law and remain the property of the Publisher or its partners. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership right over these elements to the User, beyond the right of use defined in Article 6.
The User retains ownership of the plugins they create, subject to the license granted in Article 8.
10. Personal data
The Publisher processes the personal data strictly necessary to operate the Service (account creation, authentication, license and order management, support). In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable data protection law, the User has the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port their data.
These rights can be exercised by writing to [email protected]. Passwords are stored in hashed form and, for Minecraft authentication, only tokens are kept locally on the User's device: the Minecraft password never passes through the Service.
11. Availability
The Publisher endeavours to keep the Service available but is not bound by any obligation of continuity. Access may be suspended, in particular for maintenance, updates or in the event of force majeure, without this giving rise to any compensation. The Publisher may change the features of the Service, including the list of supported Minecraft versions.
12. Liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, the Publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages, for the consequences of any use that does not comply with these Terms or the law, or for content published by Users (in particular plugins).
The User is solely responsible for complying with the rules of the third-party servers they analyse and for the consequences of using the tool. These provisions do not limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13. Termination
The User may stop using the Service at any time and delete their account from the dashboard. The Publisher may suspend or terminate a User's access in the event of a breach of these Terms, without notice in the event of a serious breach. Termination does not give rise to a refund of a current license, except where mandatory law provides otherwise (see the Terms of Sale).
14. Changes to these Terms
The Publisher may amend these Terms at any time. The applicable version is the one in force at the time the Service is used. In the event of a substantial change, the Publisher will endeavour to inform Users by an appropriate means. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the User is invited to first contact the Publisher at [email protected] in order to seek an amicable solution. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, under the conditions provided by law.
